This film is a mixture of suspense, thrill and tragedy. I love when films leave my head spinning with a thousand interpretations and wanting to dissect every scene. David Lynch is a master of ambiguity, this movie is not only an interesting psychological thriller, but also a cultural critique of hollywood conveyed through the lens of an aspiring actress, mooting the contrast on the idea of one’s dreams and hopes painted rosy colours and sold by the industry, and the actual appalling and cruel experience lived by an artist once you dive in the business with unmatched expectations.
