A very interesting twist on the "be careful what you wish for" genre. Excellent acting by the female lead. Walking out of the theater, I definitley heard people saying it went too far, but they were seeing a horror movie, so maybe they should stick to church. The scenes were intense, but the body horror was minimal. Very well done, especially for an independent film.
A unique film that exceeded my expectations and continues the horror genres recent successful movie run. While the story line may be predictable from the trailer - the extremes it takes that storyline to and the ride will have you on edge, disturbed, and even occasionally make you laugh. Shout out the directors and lead actors for delivering excellent performances across the board
This film legit shook me to my **SOUL**- **EASILY** one of my favorite horror films for 2026- (let’s see what backrooms has to offer) - possibly even just film in general - performances - lighting - tension (by different circumstances) and score. 😙👌🏼✨ I’m a death before spoilers guy- and went into this knowing NOTHING. Studio, plot, actors. - the poster of just the dude wasn’t a sell for me tbh. But my sister was like- hey let’s check it out. And- But holy capital F***** film Batman! I was HOOKED. If ya like films like - Get Out- Weapons- Talk to me- and It follows elements. See - this - film 👏🏼
Edit: On second watch, this was actually pretty good, went up a whole point from 7.1-8.1. I just picked up more nuanced things and instead of guessing where the movie was going, I paid more attention which increased this score. The pacing was so much quicker on rewatch too, not sure what happened but very solid movie! Wildly overhyped in my opinion. Maybe my expectations were too high but just didn't hit as hard as I was hoping. Snooze fest for the first 45 mins and bro could have got out that so much quicker, just drive away my dude. Ending felt like a cop out in a Romeo and Juliet type of way. There were some amazing shots but felt like a 35 minute YouTube that needed to me stretched for a feature length movie.
One of the best horror movies of the year and an instant classic for me. This is one worth getting the Blu-ray for the home collection!
