Granted i understood less than 1% of what they were saying and even that was with ALOT of chat's help (ironically). I do appreciate however they way they tried to explain it through A list celebrities (also ironic), although i still did not get what they were saying. Still, i felt the thrill, the tension and the depression through the acting the way the events unfolded. The film most probably had the capacity to simplify this further for more people to understand, if they really wanted to (they already went half the lengths to do so) but thats just it, they didn't want to. Its just like Ryan Gosling had said in the beginning; that use complicated, Wolf Street exclusive words to make you feel stupid and get you to think that they probably understand this better and to get you to just "leave them the fuck alone" Thats exactly what the film did, i feel like. They spent capital and time and effort to create this film to get the mass the see the gravity of the collapse and how it came about, yet they didn't make it mass friendly at all. So perhaps thats not what its meant for. Even if its for the sake of "pure and untainted depiction" of the time and the people (documentary like), it still couldve been easier to understand Still, it was quite the interesting watch. I've never cared to look into the 2008 collapse or get into trade or stocks or bonds or any of that capitalist nonsense that will forever remain a mystery to me. So this was added some knowledge.
