FINALLY!! A good resident evil movie! Not decent, but GOOD!
And finally they added blood and gore.
Much like the film The Monkey, the humor was used as a tool to heighten the scares as the humor gave audiences a false sense of security as well as giving audiences a breather from all the tension.
Very good movie.
Also loved the thematic symbolism that our main character was killing off the dream of family and becoming a toxic monster.

Fun and full of gore. The shorter runtime was the perfect length for a proper video game thrill ride. It’s got plenty of humor and the stakes don’t feel too high despite a world-ending epidemic about to happen. If you’re a fan of the games, the story is obviously different than you’d expect but the first and third-person camera angles and classic Resident Evil tropes will make it feel familiar.
