Good start/intro to the show. Excited to see how it plays out as the season progresses.

note to self - I would also be easily bribed with a sandwich 🥲 also it’s fun to hear cage’s version of spiderman one-liners. so far this seems to be a “building” episode, which is fine, but nothing too interesting so far. I feel like it’s going to be a pattern of slow build up each episode for the first 30 minutes to get a quick 5 minute “spider-man” sequence.
watched ep 1 in black and white. honestly, I forgot I was watching a spiderman show for maybe the majority of this episode until I’d hear specific names or see powers being used but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Janet was a standout, I can tell she’s going to be a great side character for this show! the ending montage of how the rest of this season is going to go has sold me on finishing the season. (coming from somebody who didn’t watch any trailers)
Wow this was one of the most unique super hero seasons I’ve ever watched! The noir style filmography was recreated perfectly in the black and white version of the episodes and Nick Cage delivers one of my favorite performances I’ve ever seen from him. Sony messed around and finally delivered a Spiderman property hit (besides the spider-verse movies of course) that I’d genuinely love to see more of. I even plan to rewatch the show again in color just to get both experiences.
Now this is what we've been wanting from Sony Marvel projects! A grounded, yet very quality adaptation of Spider Noir and Nicholas Cage absolutely nails the role (which is rare for me personally to say). I highly recommend watching in Black & White for a true "noir" feel - @{user:8FC6C06C-3C2A-4D74-8226-FF0B9C3F1F59} 8/10 Wow this was one of the most unique super hero seasons I’ve ever watched! Nicolas Cage work is good, and the concept of a retiring Spider-Man is great. The black-and-white visual style and camerawork is impressive. The tone is all over the place though, actors lean goofy like it’s a children’s superhero story, yet it tries to go darker, and the writing can’t support either direction. Some actors are drastically better than others, which only makes the weaker ones more distracting. A lot of potential…
This is starting to feel like Glass Onion instead of a Spider-Man.

I like the old times acting they did here. Especially Nicolas Cage. He truly embodies the 1930s era of acting. The show does feel low budget but I do feel that is intentional to the vibe they were going, at least that’s what I got. It is a bit slow paced in parts and i found myself just a bit bored in some scenes. I think the black and white works super well. Overall, I had fun with it.
It’s cool to see a different spider-man, much older and weak. A lot more realistic. It does feel a bit low budget. Still good first episode
Not bad but it seems very low budget and basically just a continuation of Agent Carter, I was expecting more
