Marlon, Tricia and Steph attend the wedding fair. Tricia and Steph look forward to seeing the beautiful dresses on the catwalk, but deep down both Marlon and Tricia are worried that their wedding plans are last minute and will they have time to prepare everything? As the grooms walk down the catwalk, Steph hints how handsome Marlon will look leaving him feeling uncomfortable. She gives him a kiss on the cheek followed by a knowing smile when Tricia isn't looking. He is concerned that there might be something about Steph that Tricia isn't telling him.

Marlon is increasingly horrified about Steph's flirtatious motives. While Tricia is busy chatting to Louise she gives Marlon a squeeze, witnessed by Bob who notes Marlon's discomfort. Marlon and Alan discuss Tricia and Steph. Alan admits that he is pleased that they went to the wedding fair together. Marlon doesn't share his confidence. Still curious to find out what caused their rift, Marlon asks Tricia again the cause of her dispute with her mother. But Tricia fobs him off with a lame excuse and Marlon is convinced she is lying.

Having decided to sell the pram, Katie is busy cleaning it to make sure it is fit for the next mother and child. Andy is still worried by her numbness to the miscarriage. Later, as the kids play rounders, she notices Andy selling the pram and seeing him give away what was supposed to be a part of their life triggers her deep set grief. As Robert shouts at her for missing an easy catch, she is suddenly unable to control herself and breaks down, having suppressed all her emotions for so long. Andy sends the others away and speaks to Katie, who admits she doesn't know what to do with herself since the miscarriage.

Katie has decided to take a few days off school and wants to spend some time with Andy. Brian is relieved that she has decided to stay at home and gives them some money to treat themselves. As they take a romantic walk, they come across a wishing well and both make a wish. They discuss the lengths that they had gone to, to be together and the effect the baby would have had on them if it were born. Katie realises she was not ready for that kind of responsibility.

It's the morning after Zoe's distressing turn and she arrives at the doctors fearing the worst. She is sick with nerves before she goes, and has packed an overnight bag as she is convinced she will be readmitted. After several tests the doctor asks Zoe back into his surgery on her own. Chris and Charity wait patiently outside as Zoe enters bracing herself for bad news. But nothing could prepare Zoe for the doctors diagnosis. She is beside herself with disbelief, claiming it to be impossible. Andy can't believe his luck that Katie has agreed to marry him.

Zoe is struggling to come to terms with the news that she is pregnant, as she has no recollection of how she may have conceived. Being a lesbian the revelation seems completely impossible. She questions the doctor's diagnosis, wondering whether it could be side effects of the medication she has been prescribed. Wanting a second opinion, Zoe does a home pregnancy test, but it confirms her worst fears which escalate as she is convinced she must have been raped. When Chris and Charity tell her she went missing for a few days in the height of her illness, Zoe can't remember a thing.

Marlon has finished the cake and he and Tricia look forward to the wedding rehearsal. But to throw a spanner in the works Bernice phones Tricia to say she is too ill to travel up and be a bridesmaid, so Ashley suggests Emily. As Emily accepts the role of bridesmaid, Marlon is horrified when Tricia proceeds to ask Steph to be her Maid of Honour. Marlon turns the conversation to the stag night. He and Paddy are worried that the Dingle stag rituals will go too far. He doesn't want to end up abandoned in Scotland, but knows Zak and the rest of the clan wont let him get off lightly.

Worried about the prospects of not being paid for the work they had done on Edith's cottage, Mack and Syd come up with an ingenious plan to get even with Marlon and Tricia. The cowboy builders pick the lock to The Woolpack and they find what they are after - the soon-to-be bride and groom's precious wedding cake. Marlon is horrified to realise the cake's been stolen, in its place is a plastic bride and groom with a ransom note from Mack demanding £7000. But when Marlon calls his bluff, Mack explains menacingly that the cake is only the start. Will the happy couple be forced to pay up, jeopardising their wedding?

Having paid Mack's ransom to save their wedding, Marlon and Tricia are distraught. Now penniless, they contemplate cancelling their big day all together, as they can't afford a decent reception. They reflect on how they had envisioned The Woolpack to look on their big day, now they'll be lucky to afford a few balloons and a party popper. True to form, Lisa does her best to cheer them up, stressing they'll all rally round to make the wedding work. Zak is insistent the wedding take place as he has invested time and money into organising a Dingle stag-night extravaganza. Marlon is more than a little apprehensive as the evening unfolds and the party gets under way.

It's the morning after the night before and a very hung over Marlon can't remember much. He certainly doesn't know that Paddy and Emily witnessed his steamy encounter with Steph. But as his memory comes flooding back, Marlon turns to Paddy who confirms his worst fears. Meanwhile, Tricia's hen night is proving to be a raging success as the ladies pile out of their limo into the bars of Leeds. As the drinks flow, Steph is having difficulty controlling her jealousy as the women congratulate Tricia on how wonderful Marlon is.

It's the day of the wedding and over the course of the morning the village buzzes with excitement as the residents busy themselves with the final preparations. Steph and Marlon both appear pre-occupied - but nobody suspects their secret and put it down to last minute nerves. But the trouble doesn't end there as Paddy encourages a despondent Marlon to open up. He reveals that Steph declared her love for him and fears that Steph may tell Tricia. Bubbling with excitement, the girls gather to get the bride to the church on time - but they hadn't planned for Latisha to accidentally get chewing gum stuck in Tricia's hair.

Despite his best efforts the previous day, it is clear to Marlon that Steph has not taken the hint. In fact things have taken a turn for the worse and she is now threatening to blackmail him. Marlon decides to play his trump card and asks Alan for help. All hell breaks loose as Alan berates Steph over her obsessive behaviour - it is obviously isn't the first time this has happened. After a few home truths are aired, Alan tells Steph she should move out of the village and demands she leaves the B&B. But Marlon's dilemma isn't over yet. Steph has the cheek to land on his and Tricia's doorstep asking for a bed for the night.

Zoe is due to attend the abortion clinic today and is feeling particularly vulnerable. As Joseph throws his arms around her she is reminded of her maternal feelings, making it difficult to leave Home Farm. Unbeknown to Zoe, rumours still seem to be centred on Charity being pregnant. Overhearing the idle gossip, Chloe tries to put a stop to the Chinese whispers insisting it isn’t Charity that is pregnant. Village busy bodies Betty and Viv are in their element as they speculate that it must be Zoe. Later at the clinic, Zoe waits alone for her operation.

Zoe is troubled as she comes to terms with still being pregnant. Chris refuses to accept her decision, convinced she's making a mistake. Zoe doesn’t deny she’d rather not be pregnant but believes a termination would be wrong. Seeking a friendly face, she goes to see Ashley, leaving Chris frustrated. He debates taking power of attorney over Zoe to force her to have the abortion and reiterates his doubts about her capacity to make her own decisions. Charity is troubled by Chris's determination to take the matter into his own hands. Ashley is relieved that Zoe is still pregnant assuming her religious beliefs contributed to the decision.

Eric summons strength and attempts to tell Glynis the relationship is over. The consequences are disastrous for Eric as hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Angry Glynis loudly reveals she and Eric have been having an affair behind Gloria’s back to the whole Woolpack. Gloria, who knew about the affair and gave it her consent, feigns shock and slaps Eric. But Gloria is furious for a different reason and explains the slap was for ending the affair not having it. Glynis has been instrumental to their political campaign and with out her on side they might as well give up.

A row ensues between Eric and Gloria over who is to blame for their failing campaign. Accepting his decision to end the affair probably means the end of his political career, Eric asserts all that matters is the love he feels for Gloria. Later at a press conference, Eric steels himself to make a statement to the village and reporters. Gloria holds her head high as Eric guiltily announces his terrible mistake and announces the end of his campaign to be an MP, but that he will continue as mayor. Although Gloria's name has been dragged through mud, she announces that she’ll stand by her man.

Gloria assures Eric she is up to the challenge of standing for parliament and informs him of plans to cash in on the publicity they have received. Finding himself suddenly out of the picture, Eric is miffed as all the attention shifts to Gloria. Wasting no time Gloria gets canvassing underway, tackling the locals first. Eric reflects on how much his affair has cost him. Now out of the running for MP, he is still content as he still has Gloria. At the press conference Gloria is subjected to a barrage of questions. But she appears to be a natural and does well against the opposition despite some hefty digs.

As Gloria prepares for her first visit to the Town Hall as a prospective candidate, Eric can’t help but think he is being forced to play second fiddle. He quickly notes the gathered press and wonders how they knew he would be there. Gloria, as smooth as ever, turns the press to her advantage and does a deal for a positive magazine article. She doesn’t realise, however, that the press always like two sides to every story. As she busies herself with the job in hand, the reporter gleans some damaging information about Gloria – from an over enthusiastic Betty armed with a megaphone.

Paddy’s concerns over fostering deepen when Katie delivers an injured cat to the surgery. It's evident that it is the victim of a childish attack. His frustration grows when he challenges Danny and Robert about playing football on the street, only for them to cheek him back and shoot him down in flames. It all becomes too much for him and he eventually tells Emily about his worries. But she isn’t as sympathetic as he hoped and demands to know why he hasn’t mentioned his fears before. With all the talk of Paddy and Emily going away on holiday, Lisa raises the subject of a second honeymoon to Zak.

Cain simmers with jealousy as he once again spies Angie and Syd in a passionate embrace. It's more than he can take and he sets about plotting his downfall. Turning to Ray, Cain hints that Syd has been flirting with Louise and suggests he isn’t the best employee that Ray could find. Ray takes the suggestion on board and fires a veiled threat in Syd's direction. But Cain and Zak have even bigger plans for Syd and, while he is distracted, they steal his van and take it to a deserted field. They then systematically strip it down, bit by bit, with the intention of selling it for scrap to pay for Zak's second honeymoon.

The Dingles revel in Syd’s heartache as he surveys their handiwork on Mack’s van. Knowing exactly who is responsible for the damage, Syd begs Angie to exert some police pressure on the culprits. But trouble is soon brewing when Syd comes face to face with Cain and Zak in The Woolpack. Syd is prepared for a one-man war with the entire Dingle clan, but Angie warns against it. Meanwhile, a stranger spooks Lisa at home. Is it the Peeping Tom – or does the visitor have another reason to scare the Dingles? Ray tries to make amends for his behaviour to Louise after his reaction to the flowers.

Zak is firmly in Lisa’s bad-books and has spent the night on the sofa. She tells him in no uncertain terms that their second honeymoon is off as a result of his underhand activities. With his back against the wall, Zak goes cap in hand to Charity in a bid to get his old job back. She is in no mood for listening until Zak tells her that he is doing it for Lisa and not himself. Charity soon lives up to her name and offers to foot the cost of the second honeymoon herself – until he can pay her back. As Gloria prepares to lap up the glory of her article in Horse and House magazine, the reality is about to knock her sideways.

The press have been hounding Gloria, keen to dig some more dirt on her drink problem and attempted suicide. Playing them at their own game she offers to strike up a deal in return for them burying the story. True to form Gloria has a master plan. Bribery is the name of the game -in return for ditching the dirt on her, something far juicer must be unearthed and Ledbetter is the perfect victim. Eric is perplexed on how they are going to achieve their smear campaign until Gloria tells him he is going to break into Ledbetter's office and steal the evidence they need to ruin him.

Gloria is upbeat predicting future opinion polls after Ledbetter has been discredited. As they reach Farrers Barn, Gloria reveals she purposely forgot her keys to test Eric's lock picking skills. Mack gives them a few tips, but doesn't notice how intently Eric is listening. Eric sports his burglar outfit and has made his way to the town hall, he is nervous as he spots a security guard. Adrenaline fuelled he flexes several credit cards outside Ledbetter's office and manages to get in without being caught. But he gets a fright once in the office as his mobile rings, it is Gloria checking up on his progress.
