With Jacka knowing about his affair with Regan, Steph tells Ned that he needs to leave town. Ned is reluctant – he needs to be here for Brad’s wedding, leaving him having to make a hard choice.

A mortified David convinces Amy to call Dr Kennedy instead of security when she catches him snooping around where he shouldn’t be. Despite his actions, Karl is ready to give David support when he learns that the young doctor is searching medical records to uncover a mysterious piece of his past.

Finally in agreement about the surrogacy, Toadie and Sonya nervously prepare to talk to Steph and Mark about it. While Steph and Mark are at first shocked, they then have to decide whether they want to take Sonya and Toadie up on the offer.

Ned returns in time for Brad’s buck’s party, and admits to Brad that he took Regan to Albury, figuring it wasn’t safe to leave her here with Jacka seeking revenge. Brad warns him that Elly knows – she saw him leave with Regan – and now Ned needs to face Elly’s wrath.

An upset Terese is disappointed to learn that the police can do nothing and that Jacka is able to walk free. Terese then turns to Paul, who finds, when made aware of how shaken and vulnerable Terese is, his true feelings for her beginning to resurface.

On hearing Leo’s on the lookout for work, besotted Aaron suggests he scope out a job with Lassiters. Leo elicits an introduction to boss Terese in exchange for organising the group outing with Amy and David at The Back Lane Bar. When the foursome gathers, Aaron lavishes Leo with attention – until it becomes apparent that Leo’s interest lies elsewhere.

Poor Piper. Her birthday has been forgotten by her family and close friends. The only comfort she gets is from Clementine’s cuddles, until Tyler shows up with a present and a plan. He whisks her off to an undisclosed location, where some intimate contact reignites the spark between them.

Steph prepares to meet Adam, the son she gave up at birth. While a nervous Steph waits for the moment she can set eyes on Adam for the first time, Toadie and Sonya are confused by her decision to keep the meeting from Mark.

Its the night of Laurens hens celebration and everyones in high spirits as they frock up in their costumes until Brad and Lauren find a goodbye note from Ned, announcing hes left town for their safety.

Lauren gathers with Paige, Piper and Elly for the second part of her hen’s celebration: a hot air ballooning adventure. Tensions run high as an unexpected guest joins the flight, but another shock is in store when the main burner goes out. As everyone in Erinsborough races to meet the descending balloon - who will survive Jacka’s revenge?

As help descends upon the balloon crash site, three lives hang in the balance - leading Jack to finally confess his true feelings for Paige and leaving Karl forced to take drastic measures to ensure the survival of one of the wounded.

Already feeling guilty, Karl worries about whether he made the right decision at the site of the balloon crash. While Susan tries to reassure him, Karl is forced to admit the situation is more serious than she thinks: was it malpractice?

Mark is reluctant to leave Steph’s side as she recovers in hospital. Knowing he could have lost her, Mark’s priorities shift and he takes time off work to be with her, but will it also change his attitude towards the potential of surrogacy?

Gary arrives late for Family Feud training following Sheila witnessing a terse exchange between him and Terese. While Xanthe is annoyed at his lack of focus, Sheila implores Gary to defend himself against Terese, with neither being aware of the true nature of Gary’s relationship with her. With the countdown to the studio on, will the tension within the Canning family boil over on screen?

Survey says... it’s time for Family Feud! Reeling from the news Gary’s mystery woman is Terese, the Cannings are bickering amongst themselves as the cameras roll and host Grant Denyer introduces them to the rest of Australia. How can this possibly end well?

Humiliated after David’s rejection, Amy reluctantly seeks some perspective from Leo. Amy’s pleasantly surprised by Leo’s loyalty and softens to him… but still totally unaware of the bet that Leo has made with Elly.

It’s a big day for Sonya, Toadie, Mark and Steph, as they face their first interview with their fertility doctor Victoria, who takes them through the preliminary questions around surrogacy. Though they are mostly on the same page, secrets are kept and views begin to diverge - and the foursome are forced to face the fact that this process is more complex and confronting than they first thought.

Brad’s health continues to deteriorate and a lurking Nurse Eve recommends Lauren get a second opinion, but David’s insight inadvertently helps Eve’s witch-hunt of Karl – especially when the investigation into Regan’s death still hangs over his head.

Tyler’s determined to make a final decision about him and Piper, but her annoyance as he mulls over his choice leads her to make a surprising turn to someone else…

Xanthes overcome with emotion as her mother Brooke arrives at the Canning house. While Brooke tries to explain her disappearance to a heartbroken Xanthe, she begs Gary to try and convince Xanthe to give her a second chance... will she get it

David tracks down the man he believes to be his father, but the skittish Bradley Satchwell panics and attacks him. When they wind up in hospital with nowhere to escape, will David finally get the truth he’s been looking for?

While Leo is surprisingly hit hard by Bradley’s disappearance from the hospital, David tracks down his ex-wife – who reveals that Bradley’s past bears a striking resemblance to Leo’s present.

Lauren is alarmed when Brad talks about his time being up and begs Karl for help, not realising the seriousness of his own crisis of confidence. Despite this, Karl returns from leave to solve Brads case with a new urgency

Halloween starts badly for Mark, with Steph refusing to discuss her decision to end their relationship over her poor fertility news, and he has no choice but to leave her to cool off – leaving Toadie and a surprisingly supportive Paul to help her come to her senses.
