At first, I wasn't sure about this series. In fact, I am still not sure it will find the right audience. Yes, I do tend to love stories aimed at women, as I relate a bit because I was homeschooled and surrounded by women my entire life. The real kicker with this series is that it does have EVERY typpe of adult personality on display, millennial or Gen X. It has it all in this series. The writing is subtle, also. It's not cheesy streaming writing (only at certain times where it feels mandated). But this shows the power of friendship, of community. The desire to not be lonely, but finding peace in being alone... through healing, acceptance (of both the GOOD and the bad). It WILL take so much time, but the healing and happiness is there. Each star has their own thing they need to learn to get through, but ultimately each person comes to understand that no matter the issue, you need friends and community to help you get through your own issues. And, sometimes, just being there isn't enough. Sometimes, people need active support even if it means tough love or going through something hard oneself. The main lesson this show teaches: you need a support group. I'll say it again but slightly different: EVERYONE. NEEDS. A. SUPPORT. GROUP. You have NO idea how this show turned itself around with me. I love it. It's subtle, and it's one of those I would recommend. It's not the best thing ever made, but it's Jennifer Garner (AND SURPRISE TOMOTHY OLEFANT)!!
