As the fire takes hold, Simon urgently calls for help, but is soon overcome by the smoke; and Tara is humiliated to discover Dev's deception.

Sitting by Simon's hospital bedside as he fights for his life, Peter pledges never to drink again; and Fiz arranges to meet Chesney's head teacher.

Fiz makes a decision when she learns why Chesney has been avoiding school; and Graeme believes Joshua could be a talented footballer.

Fiz exhausts all avenues to find a viable way of home-schooling Chesney. Michelle offers to help Peter to renovate the betting shop. Tony gets an update from his private investigator.

Luke's efforts to expose Tony's private investigation leave Maria and Tony reliving the night Liam died; and a worried Poppy listens to Tara's plans to surprise Dev.

Liz clashes with Becky; Tony is sacked from Underworld as a result of his underhand detective work; and Maria confides in Tony that she cancelled her scan at the hospital.

Liam's death haunts Tony as he accompanies Maria to the hospital for her scan; back on the Street, the businessman plans to buy Tom out; and Tara resolves to revenge Dev.

Becky decides to be honest with Amy, but her actions cause an argument with Liz and Steve; Fiz goes to visit John; and Maria tries to break her ties with Tony.

As Becky nurses her wounds, she and Steve begin to question their relationship; Tony finally has a hold over Luke and gives him an ultimatum; and Tom vents his anger on Maria.

Paula reacts badly to gossip about Julie and Jason's relationship; Colin has a surprise for Rita; and Becky's revelations about her childhood begin to heal her rift with Steve.

After arriving at Colin's party to find Julie and Jason getting cosy together, a drunken Paula reveals a long-held secret and destroys the good mood that had resulted from Rita's positive response to Colin; and Amy shows she is beginning to accept Becky.

Colin's party descends into chaos as the guests struggle to come to terms with Paula's news; after realising how different his and Deirdre's interests are, Ken heads to the canal to find Martha; and Becky is determined to protect Amy when the youngster reveals she is being bullied.
