In a time where sticking the landing seems to be easier said than done, The Boys series finale offers great writing, shock value, and closure. In an overall mediocre season comparatively, S5 E8 is the ending the fans deserved and the ending the characters earned.

Kimiko going John Wick on some Russian oligarch with nothing but Seven-themed vibrators. Neuman turning on Stan Edgar. Edgar calling Homelander “bad product.” Butcher and Hughie on Temp V. Soldier Boy. Supersonic. Action-packed episode. “You are not a god. You are simply… Bad product.” — Stan Edgar
“I don’t use a plate when I eat your mother’s savory vagine” — Frenchie

Contains arguably the most tragic moment in the series where Butcher calls Hughie to resign that his way is the right way only for Hughie to confess the opposite. The Neuman reveal, Butcher’s first use of Temp V, and Homelander’s speech. Great episode. “Oh and I may have signed us up to adopt a child.” — Hughie
“Something a little more… Scorched earth. Shock and awe. Blood and bone. In the end, only one of us left standing.” — Homelander
Season 2 raises the stakes across the board after season 1. The first two episodes are just a bit slow though not unexpected, but from episode three on it’s virtually a non-stop thrill ride through to the end. Aya Cash as Stormfront is the perfect addition to the show.

One of the most iconic episodes of the series. Driving a boat through a whale. The Stormfront reveal. The tension between Huey and Butcher. The exposing of Compound V. This episode is simply chef’s kiss.
In a time where Super Hero IPs have gotten oversaturated - The Boys flips the genre on its head by turning the "Heros" into the shows true villians. The series also provides commentary on big business, politics, and society as a whole that make it feel relevant despite being in a fictional world. While The Boys does take a dip in quality during its last couple seasons, in its entirety it's one of the best and more unique Super Hero shows we've ever gotten.

May not have followed the comics but I was def satisfied with Homelanders final moments. Chef’s Kiss!
Incredible overall show, same they decided to stick with a genocide supporting IOF soldier
Extremely dissapointing in the context of the whole show and what led to this episode. However, better than a lot of the episodes of this season. Unfortunate ending for one of my favorite shows of all time.
A bit of a rocky season tbh. But overall, I think they stuck the landing with the finale. I felt it went the way it needed to go and it was a satisfying conclusion for me. There were some loose ends that were not tied up but I get they left that open to revisit in future spin offs and what not.
