Ambos me parecieron buenísimos personajes.

this season was probably better than the first but still has glaring problems. The pacing scene by scene is just too slow and the line delivery is subpar (even though I firmly believe this cast could knock it out of the park with proper direction). I won’t knock too hard on the plot changes from the original animated show… but just know there are changes. Overall, episodes 2-5 I felt were the strongest, 1 and 6-7 just fell even flatter to me. I’ll still watch the final season but because I’m desperate for more ATLA content..

this one only gets a 7 because the instrumental of leaves from the vine.. made me teary eyed but man I wish he would’ve started singing.

Why does it feel like every shot goes on for much too long? every dialogue scene just seems to drag and there’s so much unnecessary pause between lines. I feel like this cast is capable of significantly better performances but aren’t getting the direction needed. I pray the season gets better than this first episode, this ep took me 3 separate days to get through.

Watch my review here: youtu.be/CCwdi05dOTA?si=YAPaYsASsdCyVdYW Overall, I think this was a HUGE improvement over Season 1 (which I now realize was more of an 7 than an 8). I personally liked this season and some of the writing did improve upon the characters from the animated cartoon. This isn't the animated cartoon by any means, but it doesn't need to be. It's its own thing while honoring the source material. Though, like I said in my video review, the final two episodes are a bit rushed and you FEEL the Netflix-mandated writing for its finale, but overall, it's a solid watch.

Loved the first season, but this one was really boring. It simultaneously felt super slow and rushed at the same time. I do remember season 2 of the original show was also pretty slow, but it was still really good. I’m disappointed in the adaptation of “Tales of Ba Sing Se.” it was such a great episode with some highly emotional parts to it (Iroh and his son) that had no impact at all on the live version.

Overall it’s a better season. SLIGHTLY. Imma start by saying what I liked. I think the action sequences were pretty great. Azula’s actress is pretty good and being menacing. I liked the training montage for Aang. Costumes are always great. And I think the acting is decent. I think the more serious approach they take with Iroh is good. I’m not mad with it yk. Having said all that. Here’s my issues with the show. THE PACING! It is terrible pacing. Like I was not a huge fan of combining storylines like the painted lady and Ba Sing Se AND the blue spirit. I’m glad they introduced Jeong Jeong, but I would’ve preferred he be introduced in the first season. Anyways, Momo and Appa aren’t characters in this! Like when Appa goes missing, it does not hit that hard and that’s because he was hardly in the show. Like you don’t feel that impact when Aang loses him. Other than that, it’s aight. Like it’s a show ig. I prolly won’t ever watch it again. But it’s aight for a one time watch I guess.

Season two introduces Toph who in my opinion is by far the best character in the series. Miyako does a tremendous job of translating her to the screen. That said the second season is not as strong as the first. It’s a fairly faithful adaption at least from what I can remember but the tone is consistently dark, which is not how I remember the original or even the first season.
