kubrick ranked
kubrick’s obsessive attention to detail meant he only made thirteen films in his entire career, but what films they were... his perfectionism slowed him down, sure, but it also led to an almost unheard-of shooting percentage. most directors have peaks and valleys across their filmography. kubrick maintained a level of quality that’s practically impossible to sustain when you’re more prolific.
