In 1993 a pilot episode of Shooting Stars was screened on BBC2 as part of the 'At Home with Vic and Bob' evening of programming. The pilot show differed in several ways. The team captains were Jonathan Ross and Danny Baker; the Dove from Above was a blue suitcase (referred to as the Bleu Valise); the contestants' names on the desks were their forenames not surnames; and the teams weren't called A and B, instead they were the Starbirds (with a plane logo) and the Helicopters (with a... you can guess). Guests were Wendy Richard, Martin Clunes, Ulrika Jonsson and Noddy Holder.

An extended version of the hit comedy quiz show which features 'The Dove From Above', 'I Wanna See Those Fingers', 'True Or False' and 'Random Light Take Your Flight'. Specially screened for video.

In 1993, Vic Reeves, Bob Mortimer and a big baby with a drum kit, called George Dawes, brought a celebrity quiz the like of which had never been seen before to BBC2, and the legend that is Shooting Stars began. Narrator Tim Healy and guests including Noel Fielding, Charlie Higson, Paul Whitehouse, Lenny Henry, Michael Winner and Martine McCutcheon look back at the most unforgettable moments of the smash hit comedy show. This tribute documentary also opens up the behind-the-scenes world of the show and includes hilarious new outtakes, as well as interviews with past team captains Ulrika Jonsson and Will Self, and regular panellists Johnny Vegas and Matt Lucas.

Vic Reeves, Bob Mortimer and Matt Lucas return for an anniversary edition of the show, with captains Ulrika Jonsson and Jack Dee, and guests including Peter Jones and Kate Garraway.
