For one, the visual fx with the bending was definitely better. The fight scenes were good, I just wish the characters utilised their background a bit more instead of just standing in one place and also have the fights a little bit longer. Generally the characters definitely had their moments to shine etc. Suki whooping ass, Ty-Lee with her chi blocking, Sokka with his smarts etc. My standout moments were ofcourse my 🐐's Toph intro, Katara's bending improving alot [ which was my favourite thing to see from season 2 of the OG ], Zuko's fighting scenes and Azula's rath. There were other good moments like: • Diving more into Zuko and Azula's childhood + their relationship with their mom and how it has shaped them individually. • Zuko having the internal struggle of deciding between doing what he was molded to do and doing what he wants to do. • Sokka dealing with the loss of Yue and struggling to open up. • Iroh having to atone for the consequences of his actions from his time as a General of the Fire Nation and him joining the White Lotus. • Toph discovering metal bending. • Azula just being the crazy girl that she is and causing chaos. • Seeing the gaang at odds with one another and how they come out of that. Didn't really care for Ty-Lee and Mai this season much as I did in the OG show. Their scenes weren't bad at all, I just want them to be involved a bit more. This season or maybe the show in general, is taking a darker and more serious tone than I expected. They are being very straightforward with the choices they are making, like having Azula literally murder people left and right + the propaganda with the whole "There Is No War in Ba Sing Se". It definitely wants to remind us that this is still a show about literal kids fighting a war and what that means for them. Some scenes/plot points were cut, some were mixed into each other and others were taken from season 3 [ The Painted Lady ] but that was done well, it didn't feel out of place and made sense to the overall story. The pacing overall was good. The acting is still something that can be improved on but the writing and the dialogue was good. I was not convinced yet with the portrayal of Azula but by episode 2, I was fully sold. I love how they took some of the iconic lines from the OG show and weaved them into this season and made it feel natural. And of course the iconic finale where Aang get's killed. Initially in the OG, he goes into the Avatar State, Azula zaps him and Katara takes him and they escape but now it's a bit different. They flash it out a bit more. Aang, while he seems to be in control of the Avatar State, gets to showcase his raw power a bit more before getting out of it and then Azula zapping him and dying but then my 🐐, Katara, comes to the rescue. Looking forward to Season 3 as a whole but mostly to see how they will close it up and then we can maybe talk about Netflix doing The Legend of Korra next. Fingers crossed🤞🏿.

You would think that after watching the OG show for the 100th time that the season 2 finale wouldn't surprise me....but it catches me off guard every single time.

Liked this episode better. Zuko taking the pregnant woman's stuff was very crazy to me but am I surprised?..........No. But he did try to help out with Feng and his sister so that was nice to see and which is also laying the seeds for his redemption arc. I also loved getting more into his character with the aid of the flashbacks. At the heart of it all he is genuinely a good guy/person but what do you do when your father is the tyrannical Ozai ? I guess for future episodes, it will be interesting to see the internal battle he will have in his mind between going against what he was taught to believe in and doing what is actually the right thing to do. Azula, Mai and Ty-Lee delivered for me in this episode. I actually liked Azula's portrayal a bit more this episode. Loved seeing Ty-Lee in action and the chi-blocking. Mai was also a sweet treat but there was nothing standout-ish there for me but a pretty solid performance. It was crazy how Azula wanted them to kill each other though. They are certainly a deadly trio tho because they were actually killing?? Or that other guy besides the one that couldn't speak was just knocked out? Hmmmm..... Toph's intro was peak af. That's all I have to say about that. The iconic confrontation between everyone vs Azula was done well. Wanted to see a bit more of Aang vs Azula before the other's came in but it was okay. Loved the bit that we got with Aang vs Zuko. I guess my main critics this episode or perhaps later on as I see more of the fight scenes, are the fight scenes. I just wish they could be a bit longer and for the characters to utilise their backgrounds more. It feels like every one is just fighting in place. But otherwise all the major plot points are being carried over well, so far. Nothing feels rushed, out of place or over done. Just right. The show is progressing really well.

Good start to the season. The bending is instantly way better than Season 1, it improved quite a lot actually. As for the acting, Im not fully sold yet, especially with Azula but I'm still hopeful it turns out well as the season progresses. The acting and writing in some parts definitely could be better but good performances nonetheless. I love the bond Sokka, Katara and Aang are sharing now, it feels like siblings. Which is sweet to see. Kinda feeling for Sokka, he doesn't seem to be in a good place emotionally. Which is totally valid, as he lost Yue last season and with Suki back in the mix? It's going to make for interesting character dynamics. Quite harsh with Zuko towards Iroh there at the end. He's young and naive. He will learn. Also I'm peeping the slow building of Kataang👀. Interesting to see if it will pay off and translate well in live action as it has in the animation. Let's goooooo!!

I mean, Pakku was right: Aang really should've been focusing on water bending this season. YET. I DO like that Aang got distracted by the fear of his abilities (a nod toward hurting Katara with fire in the animated source material). Buuuuuut... I fear this show is neglecting the fact that Aang struggled with anger throughout the series, which would flare his Avatar State. I do hope they don't gloss over that fact because it felt SUPER glossed over in the finale. Still, pretty freaking cool to watch this all in live action!
WATER BENDING, ICE POWERS, AND MISOGYNISTIC-ASS WHOPPING. ALL IN LIVE ACTION 😍😍😍
Once again, I liked this 🤷🏽♂️
I appreciate having a reason for Katara and Sokka to be in danger AND have them be a part of the story while developing them further. Replacing the blue frogs-sick storyline with Koh, I wasn't upset by it

At fiest, I, too, wasn't a fan of the Bumi change. It wasn't series accurate!! But then, once I began to understand where Bumi was coming from especially as someone who has been the Bumi of his friendships. It makes sense for this universe where it's darker to be more serious in its emotional consequences. However, I'm still miffed about the waste of the Secret Tunnel AS INSANELY VISUALLY ACCURATE AS IT WAS, the lore change was unnecessary
