A coming-of-age story that packs a lot more punch than you might expect. It deals with much deeper and darker themes that far more children have to contend with in their formative years than anyone would care to admit.
Jeremy Allen White is brilliant as the Boss and while the film does intimately explore parts of Springsteen’s life it is not at all your classic biopic. In fact, to me it less about Springsteen and more a raw look at the creative process.
Robert Pattinson gives incredible performances as Mickey 17 & Mickey 18. The film sets lofty goals and doesn’t quite meet them all. The political parallels to our own world is undeniable. The way that the working class is used and discarded like they are inhuman and the clueless and vicious leader. This theme is becoming a staple of Bong Ho Joon movies.
I did not know what to think going in as I had not heard much about the sequel to the surprise hit _The Black Phone_, but I was extremely impressed. I thought this was a fantastic follow up. 98/100
Jennifer Lawrence is excellent but the movie is confusing and convoluted. I am not sure what even happened at this point.
An intense and thought provoking story. A star-studded cast. And a bold ambiguous ending that works for the movie. It’s meant to linger in your mind and it does.
Eddington is an insane film that sadly is likely not too far reality.
A non-stop thrill ride from start to finish. Unpredictable at every turn. Incredible performances by all the actors in this movie. My only minor quarrel is that it ends rather abruptly. Still excellent 97/100.
I am a big Wes Anderson fan and I know that many consider *The Royal Tenebaums *to be his magnum opus. I certainly enjoyed it but it felt a little hollow compared to some of his other films. Maybe my expectations were too high and I just need to watch it again.
Brilliant film which somehow serves as a parody of horror films while simultaneously offering up something new, entertaining and subversive to the genre.
