Man on Fire2026

Massive fan of the Man on Fire movie with Denzel, so was a little skeptical when this was announced. That said, it was announced on the heels of seeing YaYa absolutely body the role of Wonder Man, so I was sold. Overall, a decent show that’s worth checking out if you enjoy action flicks. Where I felt it could have been better was not spending as much time with side characters and spending more time dissecting the villains relationship with Creasy. That said, still an entertaining watch and would recommend to others

The Punisher: One Last Kill2026

I love Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. That said, I did not love this special, it was fine at best. The majority of the events mentioned took place off screen and there was an immense amount of time spent on PTSD, which for some may be riveting, but for myself I found it slow and disengaging at times. Oh and not to mention the sound was not working for dialogue correctly AND the horrific VFX scene (spoiler 🤣). Overall, worth a watch but dont rush to it.

Lord of the Flies2026

I’m a pretty big fan of the book, so when they announced this limited series, I was immediately in. I really enjoyed the show for the most part, there were moments I questioned intentions, such as the odd camera lens choices (in my opinion). Other than that, loved Piggy, Ralph and Jack’s portrayals, absolutely did the characters justice. Though slow at times, I thought this was a great adaptation, definitely check it out if you were a fan of the book.

I enjoyed this one. Loved seeing Chris Hemsworth in a serious role. Barry Keoghan is his normal, crazy AF role which he absolutely nails every time. Halle Berry per usual was great. I did not have Mark Ruffalo stealing the show on my bingo card, was really impressed with the performance he gave. My gripes came from a rushed ending, a couple questionable moments in the movie, and lastly the unnecessary love interest for James Davis. Overall though, I was pleased and highly recommend catching it in theaters.

A movie about AI, made with a ton of AI. That’s not to say I didnt enjoy parts of the movie. But it was hard at times to think about how little they must have spent on everything outside of the cast members and promotion. Chris Pratt did a decent job, but aside from that, the acting was okay. I didn’t go in with super high expectations, so this score isn’t super surprising to me. If you have the A-List, go check this one out, its not terrible. If you don’t, wait till it goes to streaming.

Mortal Kombat II2026

GET OVER HERE if you like Mortal Kombat games. A massive improvement from the first movie to this one. Johnny Cage steals the show in every scene he’s in, but don’t think the rest of the cast was sitting on their asses. Incredible fighting scenes, better story depth and a nice setup at the end is making for an exciting trilogy opportunity for the Kombat franchise. I’m here for more

Arguably the best musical biopic to date. Imagine being someone who didnt go watch the movie because a critic said they didnt go into allegations that didnt take place until after the time period covered in the film. Go see this masterpiece for its great acting and uncanny ability to deliver MJ to us in a way most of the young generation has never seen

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie2026

How could you not like this movie if you’re a fan of Mario? The cameos may have been what carried, but again, if you’re a fan, what’s the problem? Star Fox was amazing and unexpectedly in the movie a ton. Rosalina was also dope. My favorite cameo was Yoshi though, show stealer with few words actually said. I was really hoping for the Invitation to Super Smash, but maybe in the future.

Project Hail Mary2026

I loved this film for a lot of reasons. Rocky, the visual effects, and the emotional effect it had on me. The fishing scene on Tau Ceti was insane along with multiple other instances in space. The relationship we build with Rocky and Grace was ultimately what carried the movie for me. Not quite better than Interstellar for me, but slightly better than The Martian if I were to rank space films.

I honestly had no idea this movie existed until recently. I wanted to like it ss the movie progressed, but ultimately the plot led nowhere in terms of finding out who’s children are showing up in Yonder to be taken care of. That said, I read the symbolism it was going for and can appreciate it. I just was underwhelmed with the execution of a rather decent premise. The acting was okay at best.
