Obsession2026

9.6 🥨

okay i just watched Obsession and wow, what a movie. i’m usually not a horror movie person at all, but this completely pulled me in from start to finish. the cinematography was so good and the way it blends horror, comedy, and violence felt surprisingly natural instead of over-the-top. one minute i was laughing and the next i was genuinely terrified lol
the performance from Inde Navarrette is honestly the heart of the entire film. she carries so much of the tension and emotion that it’s impossible to look away whenever she’s on screen. and yes, the jumpscares absolutely got me…
what i loved most was the constant feeling of dread throughout the movie. even during the quieter moments, it felt like something was about to go horribly wrong. the story felt fresh, the script kept me guessing, and it’s one of those movies that stays in your head long after it’s over. finally a hyped horror movie that actually lived up to the hype for me.
Wow that the director is 26 years old! that’s so cool
anything but express their feelings huh??? jajaja q chafa la friendzone

Postcards from the Edge1990

8.8 🥨

**“You know how I always seem to be struggling, even when the situation doesn’t call for it?”** Wow. They really don’t make movies like this anymore. I finally watched this after having it on my watchlist forever, and now I completely understand the love for it. Knowing it was inspired by Carrie Fisher and her relationship with Debbie Reynolds makes it even more powerful. What I loved most is how it explores addiction, identity, fame, and the complicated mother-daughter dynamic with so much humor and honesty. The scene where Suzanne sings “You Don’t Know Me” absolutely broke me. Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine are phenomenal, the soundtrack is incredible, and somehow this story feels just as relevant today as it did back then.

The Bride!2026

5.3 🥨

I expected a lot more from this film, especially knowing how talented Jessie Buckley is. I really appreciate how bold and unconventional it is though — the mix of gothic horror, romance, musical elements, and chaos gives it a very distinct personality. The performances are excellent, and visually it has some incredible moments. However, I feel like it tried to cover too many ideas at once without fully developing any of them. Themes like identity, obsession, rejection, and loneliness had so much potential, but the film never connected with me as deeply as I wanted it to.

Mean Streets1973

8.7 🥨

As someone who already loves some mafia movies like The Godfather and Goodfellas, I honestly wasn’t expecting Mean Streets to feel this raw and personal. This doesn’t feel like a glamorous mafia movie at all, it feels messy, guilty, chaotic and painfully human. The way Martin Scorsese mixes catholic symbolism, guilt, violence, loyalty, and self-destruction into such a grounded story is honestly insane to watch. You can feel the paranoia and moral conflict in almost every scene.
One of my favorite things about the film was the soundtrack. Every song choice feels so alive and natural, like you’re literally inside these bars and streets with them. It gives the movie so much energy while also making everything feel even more tragic underneath all the chaos.
Robert De Niro is genuinely incredible here. Johnny Boy feels unpredictable in a way that’s almost stressful to watch because you know he’s going to ruin everything around him at some point. And Harvey Keitel carries so much emotional weight as Charlie, the constant guilt, the need to “save” everyone, the religious fear, the self-punishment it all feels so real and exhausting in the best way possible.
The direction from Scorsese is just unreal. The camera movement, the lighting, the way scenes suddenly explode into chaos, the intimacy of the conversations, everything feels so alive. You can already see the style and themes that would later define so much of his filmography, but there’s something especially personal and unfiltered about this one. It genuinely feels like being dropped into somebody’s conscience.

The Shop Around the Corner1940

9.1 🥨

“Maybe the one person we’re all waiting for is out there.”
There’s something so extraordinary about the way old movies were made, especially rom-coms from this era. Everything feels so intentional. The dialogue, the pacing, the chemistry, even the silences. They somehow managed to create stories that feel soft and comforting while still talking about things that are painfully human. James Stewart!  he truly was one in a million. There’s something so natural about the way he performed, like he wasn’t acting at all. He made Alfred feel so real, awkward, vulnerable, frustrated, kind, all at once. And Margaret Sullavan was absolutely perfect as Klara. I saw so much of myself in her personality: sensitive, dreamy, emotional, sometimes defensive, someone who romanticizes things a little too much while also craving genuine connection.
What surprised me the most is how many important themes the movie touches on beneath its romantic surface. Loneliness, workplace dynamics, financial stress, idealizing people you barely know, and how sometimes we refuse to truly give someone a chance because of our own assumptions. The whole idea of emotional distance in the film feels so modern too, which is crazy considering this movie came out in 1940. And knowing that You’ve Got Mail was inspired by this movie made me love it even more. You can feel the dna of it everywhere!
two people unknowingly connecting through words while struggling to connect in real life. There’s something so beautiful about the idea that sometimes we fall in love with the parts of people we can’t immediately see ;)

The Drama2026

8.8 🥨

I took forever to watch this because someone on twitter spoiled the plot twist for me 😭
and i genuinely thought it wouldn’t hit the same because of it, but somehow it still did. even knowing that, the movie still works so well because the emotional tension just keeps building until it quietly destroys you lol.
outside of that, i honestly think this is one of the best films A24 has released recently. the premise alone instantly hooked me, and i loved the way it explores how our past can follow us no matter how hard we try to move forward from it.
also… it genuinely makes no sense how good and versatile Robert Pattinson is as an actor. every role feels completely different from the last. same with Zendaya, they both brought so much emotion to the film without it ever feeling forced. and the editing??? actually insane. everything flows so smoothly and keeps you locked in the entire time. somehow emotionally heavy but still such an easy watch ;)

Project Hail Mary2026

9.5 🥨

Project Hail Mary surprised me in the best way. What could have been just another space survival story felt much bigger because of how strong it was technically and emotionally. The cinematography creates a sense of isolation and wonder at the same time, making space feel both beautiful and terrifying. The visual effects are stunning without ever overshadowing the story, and the production design makes every detail feel believable and immersive!

Sentimental Value2025

10.0 🥨

**“It’s hard to love someone without mercy.”** Definitivamente una de mis películas favoritas que he visto este año.
