Verity 2026

This film should have stayed as a book. Nice plot twists and message of how you can manipulate the truth, but the structure of the movie just feels so much better as a book… and I haven’t even read it! Dakota Johnson awful as always. They even had to justify her acting in one of the dialogues.

Forgotten Island 2026

This movie has a stunning animation, beautiful designs and a lot of creativity, but the whole script is just trash. A big letdown for me, I don’t get how people are giving this film scores around 8-9. I haven’t cringed this hard watching something since Secret Life of Pets 2.

Cinema Paradiso 1988

Makes me cry of happiness every single time. What a piece of art and what a love letter to romance, nostalgia, love and cinema as a whole. I wish I had an Alfredo in my life. A true masterpiece and my favorite film of all time.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 2026

I haven’t watched the first one soooo… yeah… Movie tries to be smart, but it’s just not telling you what it’s going to do next so that you don’t expect a new plot twist. It seems Andy forgot she wanted to be a journalist by the end of the film. Nigel’s storyline was pretty neat. And the film’s entertaining all the way through.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day 2026

Last week I was left disappointed with Tom’s performance in Odyssey. This week he absolutely blew it. In a brand new way. Brand New Day is the street-level story we have long been waiting to see from Spiderman on the big screen, and it’s one of the most beautiful and engaging live action Spiderman films since TAS2. The web swinging, the action sequences, the fights, score, designs and all of its photography are A-tier. We finally get a more mature acting for Peter Parker and a nice performance from Zendaya and Jon Bernthal. The movie feels long though. There’s several moments that feel like they’re dragging the pacing, some writing decisions and plot-twists that you can see coming or just don’t make a lot of sense (for example Peter not realizing that the big evil corporate guy is lying to him). Some random notes: Some characters just come and go, like Scorpion and Bruce Baner. The scene with MJ finding the letter just feels like a puzzle piece that you found too early. * Also, the scene of Aunt May’s speech is… not as impacting honestly. There’s zero connection there to Jean Grey’s character and the scene only becomes emotional once Spiderman sits next to her. And while as a Spiderman fan it was nice to get a film that references not only past movies but comic books as well, the movie doesn’t try to give fan-service moments and instead focuses on being its own thing, which I really respect. My favorite Tom Holland Spiderman movie to date.
