American Dad!2005

S22 · E13 4.0 🥨

American dad shouldnt do anthology episodes it comes off as bad writing and too cheap to animate instead of turning the page all the stories could have connected cohesively … west to Mexico is much more a good example of how this episode should have went… instead of doing an anthology like family guy or futurama…

The episode should have involved the whole family or it should have been a multiverse dadders story with 400 different versions of iconic moments of the show… for a celebration of 400 episodes it was not that’s well

Mars Attacks!1996

One of Tim Burton’s best cult classic next to BettleJuice films that truly morphed his style and made his filmography and art style unique solely to him. I can’t imagine FRANKENWEENIE. Without Mars Attack as its predecessor

Chaplin1992

8.7 🥨

Chaplin is a film about the late Charlie Chaplin, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. in my opinion before Iron Man and after before tropic thunder, and after Robert Downey Jr. is a outstanding actor when it comes to emotions, And his humbleness to method act, RDJ has impeccable range and his filmography shows, because RDJ completely transforms as Charlie Chaplin in his mannerisms and facial expressions, as a fan of early cinema and the late Charlie Chaplin, RDJ truly captured his whimsy and humanity in his performance. Which makes me excited for RDJs performance as Doctor Doom because he is a true multidimensional performer

Backrooms2026

6.9 🥨

I think the film was well shot, what makes the film good in my opinion is the practical effects and how physical and practical each part of the backrooms felt. The film was overstimulating to me from the shot of filtered handheld to steadi cam shots. in my opinion the film is not psychological war but more so horror for children. the PG rating really shows, through the visual storytelling. Like in Megan or Five nights at Freddy’s, but As a nerd for practically effects, I commend the set designers and prop makers. But Backrooms, will set next to the prodigy in my book of horror as “they tried something new.”

California Schemin'2026

8.5 🥨

I think the cast was amazing the dialect coach did well. I think the story is so interesting as I like all music and I heard one of their songs before to not think that they were American. It was it’s a part of true late 90’s early 2000’s culture, it makes me want to learn more about modern true Scottish stories but to me music will always connect the world but the cinematography and locations in Scotland they used were close beautiful touch to how grounded the scenes were. James McAvoy help push “a true make it out the hood story”, and brought it to the screen. It’s a not 8 Mile story it its own thing and it’s cool part of music and pop culture history.

Toy Story 52026

9.6 🥨

Toy Story 5 is a tear jerking film about human adolescence and questions how social is social media. But it highlights how physical our emotions around our lives are. Well, technology is existing and useful. Social media communities are fueled by algorithms creating information-silos purposely keeping the consumer and engage by causing them to feel left behind. Because human connection in the physical isn’t based on app interest or social media presents but connection is common human behavior the understandings of body language and social cues because understanding social cues and familiar behaviors and one another is something social media can’t do because humans are unpredictable with micro expressions and behavior and algorithms are predictable. A very beautiful story with strong social commentary behind it.

Scary Movie2026

0.0 🥨

The film is a homage to the Wayne’s family legacy how scream 5 is a legacy film dedicated to Wes Craven ‘s original Scream. So the comedic landing of scary movie is a bit off, but you could tell they all had fun making the film. from using props and low budget techniques that had got them started, to the amount of SNL alumni in the film is amazing. It is a cult classic in my book I won’t buy a ticket again but I will own it on digital or dvd. Because the amount of fun the actors had being with each other on set is something you don’t see often.

Fat Girl2001

7.0 🥨

Fat Girl is a heartbreaking film that fills you with disappointment, disgust, and disbelief, and even though the film is in both English and French, the emotions feel universal. It reminded me a lot of Welcome to the Dollhouse because of the way it captures those confusing and uncomfortable moments of being a young girl trying to understand the world around you. The film is very well made and does a good job showing adolescence without glamorizing or glorifying childhood innocence, instead showing how cruel, dull, and emotionally damaging the world can really be. What makes the film so disturbing is how honest it feels about innocence being taken away too early and how important it is to preserve it before it’s gone.

Creature Commandos2024

9.6 🥨

With rewatching the season for a 3rd time I appreciate the continuity from live action to animation, the episode is well written and very cohesive in tone to the overall shared DCU, in a more stylized animated way, which makes me excited for the other animation styles in the DCU. I also think that seeing the monsters in live action as the years go on plays with the continuity of the set, DCU and it gives a nuanced freedom for different directors/ writers to work with the characters from the show, that is pre-established in the DCU. I’m excited to see clayface in live action but I’m excited to see Dr. Phosphorus, G.I Robot, and Nina Mazursky Mainly. But I’m overall excited for the upcoming years for DC.

Sorry to Bother You2018

7.9 🥨

The film itself is creative, the mixture of fast wide and close up shots adds a unique dimension to the film giving it a distinctive look, the overall color grading of the film is flat, the tone of the film and visuals slightly clash because the colors of the film are muted, Patton Oswald does amazing voice work, I think that the film has a 10/10 cast, but it was a busy to look at movie but the pace was incredibly slow compared to the visuals of the film. I would watch the film again but it’s so complex it had an uninteresting undertone, but I would recommend the film again.
